Organic Gardening at First Church

I with a few members of the church have decided to cultivate a small plot in the back of the church. All vegetables and crops grown will be sold to the church goers and the funds will be used to help the homeless in the area and continue to operate the organic garden.  The Garden is run by local volunteers who help sow the plot, seed, plant, weed, etc throughout the season.

The church will hold local meetings and during service will remind the members to visit the garden and farm stand to help give back to the community by buying the produce.  The volunteers and members will help educate the community on the benefits and easiness it is to create your own garden in your back yard.  By having the church assist and using their land, we get a lot of people able to view our garden and are learning the benefits of organic gardening.
